September 1992 : Breaking Down Walls
Oh, this one. It was my first ever stage performance as part of an evangelical church service. The rehearsal process was a lot of fun, but my acting was dire. It wasn't this that inspired me to do more AmDram, it was the chap doing the acting lessons at the Hawth, Crawley - I will tell you that story somewhere here.

September 1992 : Breaking Down Walls
A lot of work and a lot of people. I think it was only about half an hour long.
June 1996 : Cabaret
The Big One. Happy memories of doing this at the Regent, Christchurch, Dorset. This is where it began properly for me. Unfortunately, this is the only evidence of doing it, I have no posters, but I do have the t-shirt.

March 2001 : Arabia Fantasia
A Musical spectacular, full of easern promise. I think I got to wear a huge turban for this one, whioch kept slipping off, much to the amusement of the audience, but not to the writer, Ann.
March 2001 : Arabia Fantasia
Aother excellent review from the doyenne of local reviewers, Linda Kirkman, whom we all feared and revered at the same time.
June 2001 : An Audience with ...
This was a one-off production in front of 600 people at the Poole Lighthouse. I think there were 80 of us on the stage in all. The idea was to have a long-in-the-tooth star reminisce about her life, with musical numbers by the cast enacting them all. Some terrifically talented youngsters I recall.
June 2001 : An Audience with ...
I played the Director introducing all the acts, and also the Narrator in a clip of Blood Brothers.

The announcement of the show.
November 2001 : Apple
Perfomed just after 9/11 and we sent a donation. I think we considered cancelling it due to all teh New York references in it, but we went ahead and it was brilliant. Ann Whitaker wrote it, played in it, did the sets and all of the 1920s costumes. A musical spectacular.
November 2001 : Apple
The programme showing me a Fonz. I do not remember playing The Fonz, it was a long time ago.
November 2001 : Apple
A glowing review and a photo of the gorgous Katie.
March 2002 : Around The World
Another of Zenith's famous musical reviews, possibly not very ethical now.
March 2002 : Around The World
I don't remember doing the famous Not The Nine O'Clock Gorrila sketch, but I wasn't the gorilla I think. Wild? I was livid! The swimming sketch was woafully under-rehearsed but it was hilarious none-the-less, Jon and I wore female swimming costumes, we had a sheet as the pool, and tailor' a dummy legs to play with. Imagine it!
March 2002 : Around The World
Act Two, we usually did a three-hour show, but we always had great audiences. I enjoyed learning the lines to Monty Python's Lumberjack Song, even if I only mimed it.
March 2002 : Around The World
The cast in the local paper. I think I'm the one with the spear at the back.
March 2002 : Around The World
Another Linda Kirkman review. She mentioned the Hava Negela which I was in, and I don't remember it at all, which considering the fact that it was a comedy sketch, is probably a good thing. How times have changed (for the better).

March 2005 : Carpe Jugulum
Terry Pratchet adapted by Stephen Briggs. I had a tiny role as Hans, which, as any actor will tell you, is quite hard to do. An excellent play though, and unusual for Zenith to do a non-musical play, but it was nicely camped up.

May 2007 : Dial M For Murder
An odd photo of me in costume for a very, very minor part as newspaper reporter (4 lines!) in Dial M For Murder. One night the principles got a bit muddled as I banged on the door - they were expecting the inspector, not me, and proptly shut the door. I didn't even get to say my four lines.

My last hoorah at Wimborne Drama. During the play I had to walk to the back of the theatre in cricket whites, then walk back on in time for my cue. In the four performances I never hit the spot once.
December 2009 : A Russian Cocktail
My first show for CADS. I'd just joined and regaled everyone with my acting experience. I won't do that again, each theatre company is different and you essentially start again. In rehearsal Jim the director yelled at me - you said you were an actor, bloody well act!

March 2010 : A Man For All Seasons
A Man For All Seasons - I played Richard Rich, a low level functionary, doing a bit of perjuring.
November 2012 : Dangerous Corner
A complex play that I enjoyed doing. It's always great when you get a good playright doing the words, it makes it easier for the actors.
November 2012 : Dangerous Corner
My picture in the paper! And a good review too.
July 2013 : Darkness Falls
Two one-act plays - I was in the Monkey's Paw - be carefull what you wish for! It was fun and creepy too.
July 2013 : Darkness Falls
Me on the right, in the paper again, smiling wierdly, it was a great cast.
August 2013 : An Ideal Husband
I think we did this in someones large back garden in the blazing sun and a wasps nest. We read it from the scripts rather than learn it, and we had a small, but enthusiastic, audience.
August 2013 : An Ideal Husband
The programme.
October 2013 : Blood Brothers
We did the straight non-singing play version. I was the narrator and bailed out of doing a Liverpool accent. I was pretty nervous doing this, I think I phoned it in a bit, I wasn't feeling good at the time.
October 2013 : Blood Brothers
A rare advert in the local paper.
November 2015 : Bouncers
A preview in the local paper.
November 2015 : Bouncers
One of the most fun plays I've done, and rehearsals were hilarious. I was not looking forward to the improv we had to do before and after the play amongst the audience, but in the end I loved it. Just four of us on stage for about two hours, changing characters every ten minutes and dressed as bouncers. A delight.
